Our preschool program is a careful mix of learning opportunities and play. The curriculum focuses on developing a natural curiosity for learning. We do this through setting-up learning centers which provide academic emphasis on hand-on discovery experiences.

Our infants are cared for in a clean, fresh, wholesome environment designed for maximum comfort and learning. They are given loving and interactive stimulating activities utilizing developmentally appropriate play equipment. Each child is assigned their own crib, which can not be shared. Our staff works closely with parents to establish a consistent routine that fits your infant's needs.

Infants develop best with plenty of face-to-face interactions. Therefore, our teachers encourage communication and eye contact throughout the day - as they feed, diaper, comfort, and play with the child. We help the transition between home and school - their home away from home. A calm and relaxing tone is set so the family's evening and night is easy and enjoyable. The teachers keep you informed of your child's daily activities with a copy of 'My Day Today' which lists not only activities, but also feeding times and amounts, diapering times and conditions, sleeping times, and any general comments about their day.

Pre-school Typical Day

Our toddlers enjoy an environment of equipment and activities that are designed to promote safety while learning. Their days are filled listening to music and stories, and continuing the development of their bodies. The toddler program is cultivated to accommodate their never-ending need to grow toward independence as they enter the world of change.

The biggest special consideration for toddlers are potty training and gentle discipline. We work with you as parents in potty training for a consistent and easy transition from diapers to actually 'going on their own'. It truly becomes a team effort with teachers and families. At Pumpkin Patch Daycare, we use only positive tactics that strengthen self-esteem - never embarrassing or using physical punishment. Most situations can be handled with positively redirecting the child to another, more appropriate activity.
